Description

The Barber Museum in Birmingham, Alabama offers a program to fulfill the requirements of the Boy Scouts of America's Engineering Merit Badge. This program is interactive from start to finish and includes a hands-on Build-a-Bike activity, a tour of the largest motorcycle collection in the world, and a short film. With stunning views of the Barber Motorsports Road Course, vehicle exhibits, and restoration shop, the museum offers a thrilling environment in which to learn about the field of engineering.

This opportunity costs $18 per scout, and includes all materials needed for the program along with the Barber Museum BSA Patch.  We ask that scouts be prepared by reading the Engineering Merit Badge pamphlet prior to their scheduled visit. To show pride in your troop and demonstrate your participation as a scout, we ask that scouts and scout leaders wear their uniforms.

Reserve a spot for your scout or your troop today!  Please note:  Leaders and parents do not need to reserve a spot or pay the $18 fee for the program.  Troop leaders in uniform will get free admission on the day of the program.  Parents and other adults and children in attendance on the day of the program are welcome to purchase a museum admission and enjoy a self-guided tour while the scouts complete their program.  At the conclusion of the program, the scouts will be returned to the lobby to meet you and are welcome to enjoy the rest of the day in the museum.

The Engineering Merit Badge Program, sponsored by Yamaha and Big #1 Motorsports, will be offered at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum on the following Saturdays. Check in begins at 9:15. Spaces are limited, so please use the registration tool here to reserve your spot.

Additional dates will be added as they are confirmed so please check back if the dates do not work for your scout or are full.

If you need to cancel a registration, please contact us a minimum of 7 days prior to the event in order to receive a refund.
